Tallahassee Will Celebrate America This 4th Of July
I love it when the 4th of July (Independence Day) falls on a weekend as it usually means we give it more attention than when it "disrupts" a busy weekday schedule.
This year, Independence Day lands on a Saturday, and Tallahassee's theme of "Celebrate America" will be the theme promoted for our annual celebration of Independence Day.
This is not merely a fireworks display, it is an entire evening of music and events (and fireworks!).
Celebrate America Schedule
According to the City of Tallahassee website, the celebration begins at Tom Brown Park at 5:30 p.m. on July 4th, and will include "food vendors, arts/crafts, exhibitors and more." The entertainment schedule includes:
5:30 p.m. - Welcoming Ceremony
5:50 p.m. - Music by Jacob's Ladder (indie/alternative/Inspirational band out of New Orleans/Tallahassee)
6:40 p.m. - Naturalization Ceremony & "God Bless America," performed by Rhiannon Beattie
7:10 p.m. - Music by the Flip Flop Boys (reggae vibes with a saltwater twang, members hail from Mississippi to Miami to the Isle of St. Maarten)
8:30 p.m. - Music by ACME Rhythm & Blues (Tallahassee's premier horn-driven rockin blues party band. Shakin booty for 19 plus years in the No. Fla region. Specializing in old school rockin soul, Motown, and jazz)
9:40 p.m. - "National Anthem," performed by Rhiannon Beattie
9:45 p.m. - FIREWORKS to conclude
If you don't already have plans to enjoy our Nation's birthday, why not head out to Tom Brown Park and "Celebrate America?"
