Should You Wait Until Next Year To Sell A Home
I know this is true because the inventory of homes for sale in Tallahassee continues to drop, even as the rate of home sales has hit a 20+ year low.
Will it be a smart move ... all those homeowners deciding to wait until next year to sell a home?
This is not a new theme. Many homeowners feel trapped, owing more on their home than it is worth. The last time I wrote about "Waiting Until Next Year To Sell A Home," I advised people "to sell now, sell fast, and get top dollar quickly as values are dropping."
Waiting Until Next Year To Sell A Home
Looking back over my 20+ years in the business, we can see the results of what happened when people chose to wait a year.
The real estate graph above shows that during the first 15 years, if people chose to wait a year before selling their home, they ended up getting more money for their home because values were rising.
But when we look at the last 6 years, we can see that people who waited a year ended up selling their home for less than money than they would have received if they had sold it right away.
