Joe,
USMA '84. Saw your profile on linkedin's Army Football group. I am planning a move to Tampa area, and wonder if you have an agent you would recommend in the Area. I am moving from N.Y., and will need to sell here. Was considering renting at first until I learn the Area, but maybe a good agent could make me feel more comfortable with a purchase.

Any info helpful. Thanks for your time.

Hello Joe, I am a federal employee who currently lives in Okinawa, Japan. My sister lives near Orlando and recently married her soul mate so the family and I traveled to FL to spend time at Disney World and attend the wedding. My dad rented a vacation home while we were there and the experience has peaked my interest, now I am considering purchasing a vacation home myself. This would be my first home purchase so I'm glad I stumbled upon your website first. I will continue to research the possibilities before jumping into a decision. Just wanted to say thanks.

Thank you for the note Maurice. "Measure twice and cut once" before buying a vacation home ... :)

Joe,

I'm about to retire from the Army as a permanently disabled vet with 90% from the VA. My family and I are hoping to move to the Tallahassee area where I intend to finish a college degree at FSU. Unfortunately, I just got blindsided by the Army a little bit and am likely coming down on retirement orders in the next two weeks; 4 months earlier than we were initially told.

Therefore, we could be needing an apartment/townhouse/etc for rent beginning in January, and are not really sure where to begin. We have three small children (ages 3, 2, and 9 months) and therefore would need something we can afford within the 2-3 bedroom range (they're all girls, not concerned with separate rooms, yet), and a landlord that would be flexible with deposit, and maybe 1st month's rent. We're pulling together as much money as we can at the last minute because we were actually paying off debts BEFORE my disability retirement and counting on our tax return before looking at buying a house; now we'll have to rent, at least temporarily.

I saw that you are former military and immediately wanted to contact you for assistance, as you probably know somewhat the predicament we've been placed in so suddenly. If you could contact me at my email address, I would greatly appreciate it asap. Thank you very much for your help.

- Phillip
