Hurricane Hermine Hits Hard
If you are wondering what the impact of Hurricane Hermine will be on the Tallahassee real estate market, then welcome to the club.
After taking a nearly direct hit from this Category 1 hurricane, most of Tallahassee is left without power, with downed power lines that make it unsafe to travel for many of us, and a whole lot of cleanup that remains.
If you are not located within the Tallahassee area, please understand that the majority of people here do not yet have power restored to their homes. I am fortunate to live within a half a mile from TMH (hospital), so I think that's why my power was restored in just one day.
Hurricane Hermine 2016
It's far too early to measure the impact of the hurricane on the housing market, but based upon the number of trees down in my neighborhood (and yard) alone, I suspect many closings that were scheduled will either be delayed or cancelled.
"Hats Off" to Manausa Law Firm which opened their doors with no power on Friday so that our out-of-town buyers could close on their home in Golden Eagle Plantation.
Business As Usual
Joe Manausa Real Estate is working hard to get back to "business as usual." We have to help our own families and friends clean up, but we're also working hard to restore home buying and selling services to our customers.
Our property search tool was unharmed in the storm. You can still find the most up-to-date information and listings of homes for sale in Tallahassee right here.
This week's special report will still be published, so please check it out if you have some time. You can find the report HERE.
We should be answering phones and online questions any moment now, so please drop me a note if you have any questions that we can answer for you.
