Second only to my father, Jim Sauls was the most influential man in my life growing up.
It turns out, I was not the only one who felt this way about "Coach."
From Tragedy Comes Hope
On April 13, 2017, Tallahassee lost a coach, a friend, and a proud and dedicated member of our community. Former Head Football Coach at Leon High School, Jim Sauls, died suddenly from complications of Asthma.
According to the American Lung Association, each day 11 people die from Asthma in the U.S resulting in more than 4000 deaths a year. Many of these can be prevented with proper screening, education and treatment.
The Respiratory Care Services Unit inside Tallahassee Memorial Hospital focuses on those same practices to help patients who suffer from Asthma as well as many other breathing disorders....

The housing market recovery in Tallahassee is gaining speed, though it is not evenly disbursed among all existing homeowners.
Single family detached homes appear to be recovering faster, though single family attached homes had a strong year in 2016.
When measuring the strength of the housing market, we like to do it by different segments as not everybody is facing the same real estate market conditions in Tallahassee.
High end home sales in the Northwest have a far different supply and demand dynamic than do $250,000 homes in the Northeast.
So while we have published numerous reports on the Tallahassee housing market by area and by price...

Did you know that we can assess the relative confidence of home sellers regarding Tallahassee Realtors?
We measure the number of home sales in Tallahassee and look to see how many of these included a Realtor. Over time, the movement in this measurement gives us an idea of our local consumer confidence level.
Realtor Share Of The Tallahassee Housing Market
We can measure the total number of home sales (single family detached homes, condominiums, and townhouses) each month by looking to see what was recorded at the Leon County Property Appraiser's office.
We can then measure the total number of homes sold in the Tallahassee MLS and then compare the two sets of data.
Every transaction in the Tallahassee Board of Realtors' MLS included participation by a Realtor, whereas those not in the MLS typically...
Happy Veterans Day Tallahassee!
It just so happens that Joe Manausa Real Estate just hired (another) Veteran to join our team, and this Veterans Day is his second day on the job.
Welcome Alex Gutterman
Alex Gutterman has joined our team of highly focused customer service oriented real estate agents and will be trained to serve our customers during part of the process of buying a home. We felt that Alex's experience serving on a winning team in the US Navy was excellent preparation for him to be able to contribute on our team as well.
Why Joe Manausa Real Estate Hires Veterans
The housing market in Tallahassee remains hot, and that means we are running out of homes for sale at all price ranges below $350,000.
Builders have a hard time bringing a new home to the market below $300,000, so maybe it's time current homeowners took a look at finally getting their home sold.
We know there is a back-log of homeowners who have been waiting to sell their homes; they are waiting for values to return so they can use the equity from closing to buy their next home.
In fact, in the past six months, more than 3,000 people have used our property search tool to get an idea of what their home is worth. Many are shocked to find their homes have moved up in value so rapidly (after seeing nearly eight years of declining or stagnant values).
It's only November and I'm seeing too little inventory for the numerous buyers...
According to the Florida Department of Education, the average school in Tallahassee earns a "B" grade when compared to schools around the State.
Of course, if you have a child attending a Leon County Public School, you care far less about averages and decidedly more about the grade of the school that your child attends.
Take the time to look at all Leon County School Grades below, and then use our handy links to search homes for sale in the specific school zones that you would like to target.
Daylight Saving Time.
Maybe you like it. Maybe you do not. Perhaps you don't even understand why we have it.
Well, here's a little history about DST and why we change our clocks twice each year.
We move our clocks forward one hour in the Spring and then move them back one hour in the Autumn, all in an effort to enjoy more afternoon sunshine. This Sunday, we move them back one hour.
Saving Daylight Is Not A New Idea
In 1784, Benjamin Franklin wrote an essay called “An Economical Project for Diminishing the Cost of Light,” a tongue-in-check suggestion that Parisians could economize...
