Have you heard about Honor Flight Tallahassee?
This has nothing to do with the Tallahassee real estate market, but everybody in Tallahassee should have an interest in this phenomenal service.
Honor Flight Tallahassee is part of the Honor Flight Network, a national organization that exists for one reason: to take every WWII veteran who is capable of going and has not seen it, to see their monument at no cost to the veteran.
Why Honor Flight Tallahassee Exists
Often referred to as "America's Greatest Generation," the men and women who fought in World War II paid a deep price to keep the world free.
Back in 2004, the WWII Memorial was dedicated on the National Mall in Washington D.C. in honor of those brave men and women who served more than 60 years ago. The surviving veterans are now in their eighties or even older, so Honor Flight Tallahassee (and the entire Honor Flight Network) is fighting a limited time frame.
Honor Flight Tallahassee serves as a very small way to repay our surviving WWII veterans, and they need our support.
How You Can Support Honor Flight Tallahassee
Meals, travel, and support is provided to veterans without cost. Volunteer guardians will assist with personal care to make sure that veterans are well taken care of throughout the trip.
The flight will be accompanied by medical personnel capable of providing first aid care at any time during the trip. All of these volunteers will assure that the veterans have a wonderful and memorable trip.
Here are 3 different ways that you can help our remaining WWII veterans:
- Refer WWII veterans to Honor Flight Tallahassee Website for applications
- Donate your time as a guardian
- Donate funds to this great cause
Honor Flight Tallahassee is a 501 (c)(3) organization and donations are tax deductible.
